What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture originated in China, and is one of the oldest healing systems in the world. Its main goal is to restore your body's balance and improve your overall health, allowing your body to heal naturally.

How does Acupuncture work?

Acupuncture treatments involve the insertion of tiny needles just below the skin, placed in very specific points to generate energies and connections throughout the body. This activates responses in your body’s immune, circulatory, nervous, and endocrine systems, which helps the body heal naturally.

Are there any risks involved?

There is minimal risk of injury and virtually no side effects when administered properly. The needles are sterile, regulated by the FDA and used only once. Acupuncturists are licensed by the state of Ohio and certified by the national board of acupuncture.

Is it painful?

For most patients, acupuncture is a painless, comforting, and restorative form of therapy. Acupuncture should never be painful, but you may have some sensations that are indicative of a therapeutic response.

How long does a session last and how many treatments are needed?

A typical acupuncture session lasts 30 minutes including insertion & removal of needles. An initial treatment plan may consist of anywhere from 8 to 12 sessions depending on the condition being treated.
